5 Important Principles you must Live by to become better in 2023

Let’s just jump right into it.

1. Be careful what you say to yourself.

As 2023 unfolds, it is important for you to be careful of what conversation takes place within your head and in your mind. What you say to your self has more impact on you than you can imagine. What limiting beliefs held you back in the previous year? Do you still carry those same beliefs into the new year? You need to watch it and deliberately stop that conversation roaming in your mind.

2. Never ever compare yourself with anyone.

Thanks to social media, it helps you see how well you compare with others. Whichever way you look at it, comparing yourself with others will have a negative effect on your both emotionally and psychologically. You need to clear your mind and clear your compass. You need to have a clear clean standard for your life, and that’s definitely not social media. Let your daily goal in the new year be to become better than you were yesterday. Grow steadily and systematically. Draw inspiration from others but never ever compare yourself with others. Be happy, live happy and fulfilled and keep doing everyday better than you did in the previous day. Trust me, this is the fastest way to climb up the ladder to happiness, and progress and fulfilment.

3. Do something everyday to challenge your limiting beliefs

It is as simple as that. Identify the limiting beliefs you have of yourself and of your abilities and do something everyday that challenges those limiting beliefs. Do something everyday that chalenges the status quo. Do something everyday that makes a difference in your life. It is important to catch and identify those limiting beliefs because If you don’t, they will keep roaming in your subconsious mind and thoughts. So, make it a goal to identify those blocks and climb over them in the new year.

4. Invest in others

Investing in others is an important aspect of our lives. A life worth living is the life lived for others. Making a difference in the lives of others in the new year will leave you a sense of purpose and a sense of direction. Your success is not complete if it does not incorporate others. Let go of the selfish living of the previous year and deliberately do something to better the lives of others.

“To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.” ― Dr. Seuss.

Don’t miss the joy and fulfilment that comes from investing in the lives of others in the new year.

5. Take Responsibility for your life

This principle will be a game changer for you if you take it seriously in the new year. Enough of blaming others for your failures and misfortunes. Take charge of your life. Be proactive and control the narrative. Don’t be a victim of circumstances and take the bull by the horn. Even when the fault appears to come from others, accept the responsibility for not making sure they got their job done. Don’t fold your arms and earnestly wish things will become better. Instead, make deliberate efforts to take charge of your life, your future and your destiny.

See you on the brighter side of the new year.

Lets get started: The Purpose of this blog

Let's be frank, I've known about blogging a long time ago. Around 2012, I'd been very passionate about owning a blog or a website. I posted my first article September 30, 2016. Why such big gap between when I had the idea of owning a blog and when I actually started blogging? Not just blogging; I've also experienced  this kind of scenario in other areas of my life. I've taken time to reflect about this and below are the few reasons I was able to map out. Connecting With  Others As a result of my upbringing, I've learnt to do things on my own. Although I've built a life of confidence and grit in what I do, ( at least to some extent ), I've come to discover that productive  team work is inevitable. This has to do with connecting with the right set of people. As regards owning a blog, I remember spending all night trying to create one. I eventually became frustrated because I just didn't understand how to go about it. I recall thinking perhaps I h

The Slow Forward Match to Greatness

We all have goals that we’d like to reach. And, if we had the choice, we would prefer to reach them sooner rather than later. We want to get results now. We want to make plans, pursue them and achieve immediate results. My experience teaching younger children has taught me some life lessons. First, the power of patience. Second, the power of repetition. Third, the power of learning by portion. Esther is a little girl I teach. She's active and ready to learn but easily distracted. She was yet to master the use of letters to form words. Words that rhyme. My goal for her was to make her master two-lettered words in one week, three-lettered words in the second week, four-lettered words in the third week. All in three weeks. By the fourth week, she would begin to read texts written from two letters to four letters. I set these goals in high spirits. I thought within myself:  If I can achieve this - I'll count myself an effective teacher, besides her parents would be impressed the

What Kind of Life Are You Living: Significant or Insignificant?

Life is all about choices. You live out what you choose - whether consciously or unconsciously . Right now, you are either living a life that is significant in your community or you're kind of lost in the crowd. If you are unsure of where you belong, don't worry, we are here for you. Choosing to live a significant life begins with a sombre reflection and realization. It also goes along with the willingness to pay a price. What Does it Mean to Live a Significant Life? Living a significant life is living a life of impact. A life that touches someone, meets the need of others; an indispensable life. You could be popular and still be miserable. You could have a large number of friends on social media and still be lonely. A significant life is an active life; a well that many can draw from. Pouring out yourself in this regard is very important. Anything significant must be useful, resourceful, indispensable. If it doesn't meet a need, then we can dispose it. When you live fo
